  Bravo.   Totally recommend!.   I have never got off setting one, so am impressed at how functional this is to exercise my lungs.  I am back on the treadmill.   I need more discipline to use it regular, but when I do, it is very efficient.

I am not running marathons, but, I can go alot further without having to rest. After having covid pneumonia it was very difficult to breathe.   I was on oxygen and doing 4 breathing treatments a day but my lungs were very weak.   After using the "puffer", as my pulmonologist referred to it, my lungs have been built up.   I strongly recommend this product for anyone having lung or breathing issues.

I have been through 3 open heart surgeries and it works.  It really helps your lungs and muscles around the lungs. Do not hesitate get it it works. I love this little device and will keep this handy for whenever I am sick, when I had covid I had an issue taking a deep breath, this helped me tremendously.

  A friend told us to get one of these to help exercise his lungs.   I bought it and a pulse-ox meter and my husband started using both several times a day - tracking his progress.   He could barely get the red ball up when he started.   It served as a bit of a challenge and was good for him. My husband got Covid-19 with pneumonia.   When he got to the yellow ball, he really felt like he was progressing and it was encouraging and a motivator.   When he was able to get to the green ball, it was like a celebration.   Both this and the pulse-ox were good to discuss with the doctor as well because he could see there was progress being made.   I had highly recommend. I had heard that the exercises with this type of device Could possibly lower Blood pressure and at 1st I was skeptical however after 3 weeks of use I am seeing an improvement in my numbers, I am sleeping better and I am breathing better overall.

Received item quickly and was able to get instructions and view videos on the product and how to use and care for it. I purchased this product directly through PN Medical, due to a Bob and Brad YouTube video.  Within the first 2 weeks I noticed better breathing - less breathlessness, better sleep.  At first I was not even using it correctly and I still experienced benefits.  I have COPD/Asthma and I am a senior citizen.  It is a durable product, been using now for 2 1/2 months with no issues - even after I dropped it on the tile floor  accidentally  it suffered no damage.  It never smelled like off-gassing plastic, as some have said.  Maybe the product has been counterfeited and some are receiving inferior goods? I agree that the phone app is a bit wonky but it is nothing that I have not figured out how to get around.  Whenever I have used "Help" on the app to ask a question, I have always gotten a prompt response, via email.  I have been encouraged to contact "Help" whenever I have a question.  This works for me.  Sure beats sucking on a spirometer and blowing up balloons.

Awesome! This little instrument is life saver for COPD!!! Saw improvement on day two.  I Avery pleased that I discovered you and wonder why my soon to be ex Pulmonologist has not even told me about the improvements to those muscles we need to get a decent air exchange for improved quality of life.  I would recommend all COPD patients regardless of your level! You have not done all you can for this terrible disease if you have not given this great instrument a try!. I really like it.

Breathing no longer feels natural and effortless, and having used every pharmaceutical treatment available, I was very discouraged.  Between that and constant masking, I developed adult onset asthma.  I saw this, and thought, well it is kind of like an incentive spirometer, but for $50, I am willing to try anything that might give me a little quality of life back.  I have been using this  inconsistently  for two weeks now.  I am still on level 1, but I can say without a doubt, I am taking deeper, fuller, less labored breaths already.  I will continue to use it and update my review.  This will be a must have item in my family's medical kit though!. When I first opened the box I felt the product was thin and flimsy.

Recommended by therapists for breathing training. . . .  This tool really made a difference for me after 6 months of struggling. . . but it is simple to use and simple to keep clean and builds back breathing skills needed for singing.  Of course the therapist is the one who recommended it.   Clears out my allergy congested lungs. IT WORKS!!!!  Great retraining of a basic skill in a step by step process.

I had never thought of exercising my breathing.  Then I read an article about the breather and checked it out.  I have only been using it for a week, but I can feel a difference, especially during my daily 3-mile walk.  I am 68 years old, and this is a good way to help me stay healthy for many more years.  Give it a try.  I looked into breathing exercises and devices that could help him since he was getting serious about the sport.

I have just started to use the Breather so it is a little to soon to see results but it is very easy to master.   I downloaded the app and it is the BEST tool.   I had rate the app as excellent.  As for swimming I can inhale a greater amount of oxygen and exhale with greater strength underwater, all without the feeling like I am being starved of oxygen.

This product is amazingly simple.   They provide a website that answers most questions too.   I will post again after a few weeks of use.  Though I will admit I am impressed and it does work if you use it, properly.

I think this helps only thing is it has something in the plastic that I am having some swelling in my lips-latex or some form of it in the plastic.  I have reactions to most plastic drinking cups an spoons. My Speech Pathologist daughter recommended its purchase to me because as a “bubble of one” during COVID isolation, my voice had gotten weak and croaking! Use the recommended app listed in the package insert.

Easy to use, easy to clean and the online instructions are great. We are using this to train my wife for deeper breathing, and it is a great product that does exactly what it is intended for.  Cleaning is easy but I think you should probably replace it on a regular basis- which I fully plan to do since it is affordable.

" After four weeks on the Breather, I am now back up to 3. I came across an article on RMT  Respiratory Muscle Training  a couple months ago and was intrigued by the possibility it could help my diminishing stamina and also help lower my blood pressure  I am in my early 80s--and both are ongoing problems for me . 5 mph, at first for perhaps ten of my 35 minutes and, in the past week, all 35. Of course, information and looks are not of much value if there are no health benefits.  I will grant that flat belly runners will not find my improvement very impressive, but I think I have found THE key to improve my stamina, and have "turned the clock" back a few years--at least when it comes to daily walking.  And, subjectively, I have fewer daily periods of "feeling tired" and wanting to nap. First, stamina.  I will take it.  In the last couple of years I have notched my walking speed from 3. I have suffered from hypertension for over 25 years, been on up-to three different medications over this time span, and devote myself to researching "lifestyle" factors that can lower BP without meds  like the DASH diet . 3 mph, finding the higher number a little too strenuous for me to "go the distance.  After a month using the Breather, my systolic  the "top number  BP has dropped by an average of five points.  Fortunately, at least in my case, the benefits have been pleasing and substantial.  That may not appear to be much, but--given my history--it is significant, AND the lowest my systolic pressure has been in several years.  I exercise  walk  on a treadmill for 30-35 minutes each day. I am more cautious in asserting that RMT is the only factor involved in my lower BP  I am always trying to improve in this area and try different interventions, some around the same times , but I believe it has definitely helped.  I searched for RMT devices on the internet, read as much as I could about each, and finally purchased the Breather. Bottom line: after less than four weeks using the Breather I am a "convert. 5 mph down to 3. " I enjoy the brief periods of exercising my breathing muscles, am convinced I am doing something important to maintain my ability to take care of myself, and am delighted with the tangible signs of improved health.  I have got the numbers to convince me, not just a subjective sense of improvement. Not true to words  not the size I was looking for instead a doll size.

This product was recommended to me by my speech therapist to use for my rehabilitation and lung exercise program for the therapy program while recovering from pulmonary fibrosis, to use in place of the incentivizer because it works for strengthening my breathing both inhaling and exhaling, whereas the incentivizer only works for inhaling.  It is easy to use, easy to clean, and a great value for the money.  A great buy!!. I have been having a little problems with lung expansion and  low O2 sats and a little bout of A .  The FIRST time I used it my lungs felt like I could take a deep breath.  Continued use is slowly bringing up my sats. If you suffer from asthma or COPD or other breathing issue I recommend this.

it works great . This is awesome in every aspect of lung health.   I started with easy resistance and now up 3 clicks on resistance setting.   Used before golf and also my pilates session and noticed a difference right away in jy energy level  Now, most importantly, my blodd pressure has dropped ten points from average of 136/70 to the low 120/62,  Highly recommend.

It was recommended for voice therapy after removal of a program called mode.   I love the size of it it is only about 8 inches long so it is easy to handle or pack to therapy.  I have only used it for two weeks but I find it very useful.  I did not want to order a case which is available but I do wish that a small bag was included much like a drawstring shoe bag.  I had a small travel bag which I use and find it very convenient. I am breathing better than I have in 6 months.

I am able to draw in deeper breaths and without wheezing. Absolutely works.  This simple gadget is a must!….  I have been wheezing off and on, and although I have my nebulizer and other inhalant, I realized I needed to strengthen my lungs. Easy to use but quite expensive.

I received this product a week ago and have been using it every day, and I hate to sound overly enthusiastic, but this little gadget has changed my life! Using to bounce back after surgery with anesthesia and also a bad respiratory infection. I had no idea how shallow my breathing was.

It works well and is easy to use.  To many problems to list.

Not sure if I recommend using it while exercising but if you do make sure you do not bite down on it hard cause it will damage the mouth piece overtime. I recomend it.  Also, the seller was very kind resolving some problems about my delivery adress.

Edit- my breathing feels better right away and although I was not having a flare at the moment of dysphonia and felt “normal”, my voice still feels better too.  I had bronchitis a few years ago and was always short of breath six months after.  I do not feel now like I have shortness of breath but do seem to have a little reduced lung capacity  according to a spirometer I got recently .  I did not realize it felt thin or weak before, until it becomes painful to talk.  It was a very unpleasant experience! She made me do these tests 80 times and did not believe me that I was about to pass out, put in my charts bad cooperation and just kept saying I promise you can do more! You will not pass out! I felt like I was turning blue.  Hard to describe, but it is almost like the difference between the consistency of soda  being very “thin”  vs eggnog.  And sometimes i can tell there is a swelling or tightening which the doctor says is inflammation that goes along with dysphonia. I just found this device- this is a tool that I can actually DO something.  Voice just feels fuller and stronger, and like it will not tire out so easily.  I feel like it really does help.  Sang along a song in the car and usually my voice is toast after about 10 seconds.  I saw an airway specialist around that time when my shortness of breath would not go away after the bronchitis.  And, I also have muscle tension dysphonia  too, so sometimes my vocal cords get extremely sore and I can't talk for a long time  I had once I could not talk *at all* for two weeks . .  This is exactly what I was looking for really.   I feel like this really helps clear out my lungs and makes me feel better.  so much more helpful than doctors that just kind of shrug their shoulders.

This was the best product I have ever purchased, it worked perfectly. I am a smoker.   This supplement gives me a peace of mind for lung health, until I am more self-disciplined to quit.

Not sure if I recommend using it while exercising but if you do make sure you do not bite down on it hard cause it will damage the mouth piece overtime. Helped me breath on first breath I used it -- awesome!.

I suspect that the phlegm problem was a long term consequence of Covid-19. This product, with only a couple days of use, resolved a phlegm issue that I had been dealing with for about a year and a half.   I also believe that it has reduced my snoring and allowed me to sleep better. Easy to use , clean.

Pain in the but to clean, I just clipped the zip tie and attach a removable one I had on hand. i am following instructions daily.  There are no instructions, to be honest you really do not need them.  I am now using it while I run and feel the resistance when I pull, though I would rather train to breath through my nose consistently, this little device does what it says.  My breathing has improved over the last few weeks and I will continue to use it until I do not see any change. I knew this device was going to look extremely cheap made as all reviews have described.

If you read a recent research this thing should be able to decrease blood pressure when used regularly. .  Will see though! Anyway it is a great exercise!. I had heard that this type of device could help lower blood pressure among other things.

Be sure to buy from a good reputable seller. Great product fast shipping. If you factor in all the underlying costs of inhalers  Dr visit, prescription, etc , this is a much better purchase @ $25-30 per unit. It does not "burn lungs" or anything from my use, no negative side affects. I have mild to moderate asthma, this product works really well and is finally available again on the regular market.

I have been using the breather for several months and I can actually tell a difference in my breathing.  I am thankful for this product.   Without, my blood oxygen  BO  was low to mid 80's.

I started off at the lowest level and for one week kept it there before I twisted the knob the merest bit to increase pressure or resistance. I am panting and gasping less and am no longer wondering if I should buy a ground-level condo.  While I think I can perceive some increase in my lungs' strength, so early a sensed improvement is . By way of a personal experience: I have found breathing two counts through the nose and then exhaling four counts through pursed lips when I try something taxing has helped increase my endurance. This was recommended by two doctors. . . Really helps my breathing!  I suffer from vocal cord dysfunction. A little resistance is a noticeable thing.

I decided on this one.  I LOVE IT.  Price against value against reviews, etc.  Start off doing smaller amounts at a time.  5 reps several times a day, then work up to the 10=15 reps .  it is intense and you can feel it the first time you use it. I researched many of these .  So far it is working great. Well made.

I recently purchased these as I do not have any insurance and my inhalers cost is outrageous!!! I have pretty severe asthma and these have literally been a life saver! Of course my Xopenex inhalers were a little smoother and did not have much of a taste.  These are a bit bitter and can give your throat a small burning sensation but it does the job and goes away almost instantly.   I am prone to bronchitis,  and this really helps to open up and allow easier breathing.

I was skeptical when I bought this but thought I had give it a try.  These pills really work but you have to be patient.  It took about a month before I noticed a difference.  I still use my albuterol occasionally but not near as often as I did.  I am very satisfied!.

My therapist was able to show me the videos but I still do not have the online coach, etc. I could not use my incentive spirometer- too big and bulky.  This unit is small enough to set upon my chair side table and use whenever I want.  I wanted something to exercise my lungs and get rid of the atelectasis my doctor noticed.

The exerciser is a visible indicator of how congested my lungs were. Easy to use and I can feel it working. . .

A fairly simple device that just does what it is supposed to.   This gives you control to adjust through a mostly full range - nearly wide open normal breathing all the way down to completely shut.   The mouthpiece is the perfect softness.   Not too soft, but not so stiff as to be uncomfortable.   This is a simple device that works well for the price.   This Does not have the bells and whistles of some of the  ;pro ; devices, but functionally works the lungs very well.   Build quality is fine and still looks pretty much new after 2 months of use.   Only suggested change I would make is that the mouthpiece is held on with a white zip tie.   Seems a little  ;low rent ; to me, but I guess if you were to take it apart to clean it you could just throw on another similar zip tie.   Nevertheless, I think some sort of reusable clip, or other method of securing the mouthpiece, would have made this look a bit better.   This is just aesthetic though and is really being nitpicky.   I would buy this thing again, but doubt I will have to as it seems like it will last forever.   It is easy to use, would recommend it.

I have severe COPD.  It works! It is subtle, but after steady use, I feel and see the improvement.  I am on setting 4 and I use it daily.  I am not running marathons, but, I can go alot further without having to rest.  The coaching app needs ALOT of work but the product was worth all $50 dollars. Its also the smallest of all the brands I tried. Getting it to work was really simple.  I followed the training exercises on the instructions that are included which was a great plus.  The mouth piece is really comfortable. I use it every morning before I start my day. I LOVE buying USA made products so thats one reason I went with this one.  I can already tell I am taking fuller, deeper breaths.  My workouts do not hurt my lungs as much as they used to.  The mouth piece has a made in USA stamp on it and it came in a sealed ziplock bag so I feel comfortable knowing that.  The only thing I would change with it would be different color options.  I tried a few other brands and all their mouth pieces were really stiff which hurt my gums.  Should cost no more than $20 and not $49.

  Laziness I guess.   I was hoping to re-train myself with this little device and:  it is working!  Just use it 2x per day.   I do not have any respiratory medical issues, but over the years I have discovered that I do not really breathe right.   Within a few days I noticed a big improvement and I am more conscious of my breathing, especially when exercising or stressed at work. This is a pretty ingenious little device.   As you progress, you can change the amount of resistance on the device, making it more challenging to inhale and to exhale.   This little thing actually gives you a little ab workout while you are using it!  I am impressed.   I tend to breathe very shallow, and have noticed that when exercising I am not breathing deeply enough and I am not using my diaphragm at all.  I needed it now so I payed the price to get it.

phone app very useful to monitor timing.  Not able to change number of reps is a deterrent to full application of appliance. I found this on  and started using it 2 days ago.  I am not totally breathing normally but I can tell a difference.  This is a very bad illness.  This is from John Hopkins Hospital.  You can't walk 10 feet without losing your breath.  They said you should feel a definite improvement in 6 days.  Well, one of the symptoms shortness of breath.  So far so good!. I tested positive for COVID 19 the week before Thanksgiving.  we will see with time.

In just a weeks time I could tell the difference in my lung capacity and breath strength. I got this off of a recommendation from Bob and Brad on youtube as a possible solution for my sleep apnea.  I was skeptical but really did t want to use a cpap.  I could tell the difference after the first two days.  After a week of use my sleep apnea has almost completely abated.  I can't recommend it enough.

Just got it, but it seems to act as promised. This is an awesome device to strengthen your diaphragm muscles. I have COPD and I have slowly found it more difficult to breathe.   I was looking for a simple device that would hopefully help me to exercise my lungs.   The instructions are clear, dont rush, just take it slowly until you see improvement.   I have been using while observing my O2 percentage and getting good resultsOn reading through some the comments it seems that people have been blowing into this device instead of sucking air through it. To work properly you should suck through the mouthpiece for as long as you can, so that the red ball lifts up.   Then remove the mouthpiece from your mouth and breathe normally for about ten seconds.   Then repeat the process until you can hid the red ball up for ten seconds before moving to the yellow ball.

.   The training videos are simple and easy to follow. Noticeable improvement after 1 day of use.   Continual improvement, maintenence. Suggestions:1  mouth piece "TOP" molded into silicone, not easily apparent to see.  Use the tie wrap hump to keep track of TOP.    mine is on the left when silicone is inside of mouth. . and there is also an extra wide ridge on the body piece 2  mouth requires several days to acclimatize to silicone mouth piece, until you no longer think about it is placement as it probably fits no one perfectly.  That said all similar competitor's products have same silicone mouth piece. 3  First week just use it full open while you become accustomed to breathing deeply and having it in your mouth.  You will benefit even at this setting.   Importantly, you will discern how to use your diaphragm, how your lungs work.   After using it for awhile, you will condition your diaphragm, and learn to force air out and in, easily and quickly, with your diaphragm, instead of straining to breathe with your chest. 4  As I have the time and opportunity, I use the device several hours a day, lying down.  Thus, it is easier to deal with the saliva which forms, swallowing as needed.  I inhale / exhale thru the mouth piece.  If doing so becomes uncomfortable, just breathe thru the nose for a while and then return to mouth breathing. 5  On the dial movable section, at the Minus symbol  - , the ridge hump is about 5 times wider than the other narrow ridges. . .  You can keep aware of how much or many ridges on the stationary body you have closed the valve. 6  After you are accustomed to using the lung exerciser and are comfortable breathing in and out with the restriction valve, and can adequately use your diaphragm, be aware of and make use of the Two Variable Forces/Means by which your Respiratory System and Abdomen will benefit/improve.  ONE: The amount of Restriction on the device.  TWO:  The amount of Force exerted by the Diaphragm when exhaling, inhaling.   You will be able to tune/balance these 2 variables to attain maximum benefit and comfort and feel your Respiratory muscles, being aware of them.  The more the exertion, the more the benefit. 7   Just Use It Daily.   Use it comfortably. 72 yr male, asthma, weak breathing, out of breath.

never. i bought this for a friend who needs to work with her lungs/breathing after i worked with the breather. .  really has developed my lung capacity, my breathing, my strength over all with my better breathing. because it is so easy and organized.  i was never consistent with it and disliked it as i worked with it.  also, great videos and webinars on the breather website.  i never miss doing my exercises with it. .  i highly recommend it.  i underwent chemotherapy and surgery and tried the spirometer in recovery. .  it is great.  Not able to change number of reps is a deterrent to full application of appliance.  with the breather, the app on my phone leads me through the exercise twice each day.

I started using Clearlungs 4 days ago.  When I purchased the item I was grasping for anything to help me with my asthma.  I was even doubtful but hoping this would work and it actually has made a difference.  Long term I am not sure but I will continue to remain positive.  I have copd and these work excellent to help me breath.

  The product is sturdy, well built, and easy to clean.   I really like how easy it is to adjust the difficulty or resistance. This was just what I was looking for to help develop my diaphragm muscles.   I have seen other more expensive options but this unit really is a great value at a fair price.   I am getting one for my kids who run cross country and track as their coach recommend breathing exercises. Really helps retrain how to breathe from diaphragm.

I have been a professional trumpet player and teacher for many years.  Wind instruments require air, lots of it! I never can get my students to breathe deep enough.  I would highly recommend Expand a Lung to brass and woodwind players of all levels to achieve deeper breathing techniques.  Although I have plenty of air to play my instrument I can always use more. sgave improvements in breathing quickly.

  It was cheaply made and when I got it out in the wake of COVID to exercise my lungs it did not work at all.   Helped me reduce the impact to my lungs and respiratory system from Covid both during and post covid. . a  must covid weapon to have in the home!.

Small size makes it easy to slip in a pocket.  Better adjustments than the standard spirometer. Good product! Easy to use, clean and store. No complaints.

It could have come with instructions that would have been nice. Bizarrely wonderful! Smaller than we were expecting, but well made, easy to use and actually fun! My wife uses it as she has COPD/Emphysema, and is actually keen to use it , there seems to be some improvement already. Thinking about getting it but not sure? If you suffer from asthma or COPD or other breathing issue I recommend this.  Its kinda like getting a workout from the comfort of the couch.  A few minutes of using this device even once a day makes a noticeable difference. It could have come with instructions that would have been nice.

I just started using it and its way to soon to determine if its effective. My Speech Pathologist daughter recommended its purchase to me because as a “bubble of one” during COVID isolation, my voice had gotten weak and croaking! Use the recommended app listed in the package insert.

Restored laryngeal function after prolonged bronchitis in an asthmatic. Already seems to help a bit.  Helps aerate lower alveoli, and inhalers much more effective after using.   I had have found this years ago.

After one week of using this device 2x a day at 30x morning and night, I have noticed that I am less light headed, I am using my diaphragm more for breathing, and I am running out of breath less while sitting still and working out. I have orthostatic hypotension and have noticed that my breathing is very shallow and I often am "out of breath" sitting still. It is a wonderful way to exercise my lungs, as I have COPD.  I was a "chest breather" and did not utilize my diaphragm as much as I should have been for breathing.

No need for a prescription. it is comfortable and works as it should. Easy to use and not too expensive.

its exactly what teacher ordered. I am trying to beef up my lungs - especially during this COVID pandemic.  This is simple to use.  Easy to clean - do not share, do not harbor your own germs - clean it!.

He uses this every other day if not daily and he has rarely any breathing problems or wheezing anymore. My husband has been suffering from asthma and wheezing for years. Great Product. This product is really great when my asthma starts to act up.

Cleaning easy however the diaphragm seems to stick after drying and requires more effort to release.  easy use well made happy bought it . This is very helpful for rehab and maintenance of respiratory strength.

  Have continued to use it to keep my lung capacity up. This was great as I was recovering from Covid.   It does what I needed as a medical device.   Hurt to take deep breaths at my sickest but this helped me to be able to take deep breaths again.

This is the size of a pipe and easy to use. I bought this after developing breathing difficulties while having covid.  It works great and helped me when I felt like I had an elephant sitting on my chest.
